Who handles your data

The data controller is Kakashi Venture Accelerator S.r.l., Corso Germano Sommeiller 31, 10128 Turin, Italy — VAT 12781800011, owner of the KANSEI title. For any request about your data, write to privacy@kakashi.ventures.

What we collect

• Newsletter sign-up. When you subscribe, your email is collected and managed by Substack, which hosts our newsletter. We use it only to send you the issues.
• Browsing data. With your consent (cookie banner), we collect data such as page views, referrer, device type and reading time through a first-party analytics system hosted on our own infrastructure. We do not record your IP address and data is analysed in aggregate form.
• Anonymous page count. Even without consent we count page views: for each one we record the page address, the site you came from (domain only), any campaign parameters (utm), the device type and the country. We use no cookies, do not record your IP address and assign no identifiers, so the count cannot be traced back to you or linked to your other visits. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we do not count the page either.
• Account and subscription. If you create an account to subscribe, we keep your email, your password (encrypted, handled by Supabase) and the state of your subscription: whether it is active, when it renews, whether you cancelled it, and your confirmation about the right of withdrawal. Payment is handled by Stripe: only Stripe sees your card details, we receive the outcome, the expiry and a customer identifier. Stripe also collects your billing address, which is needed to calculate VAT.
• No sensitive data. We do not ask for or process special categories of data. You don't need an account to read the free sections of KANSEI.

Why we process it (legal basis)

• Newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Account and subscription: performance of the subscription contract; for accounting and tax records, a legal obligation.
• Browsing statistics: your consent, given through the cookie banner and revocable at any time (see below).
• Anonymous page count: our legitimate interest in knowing how often our pieces are read, with no data that identifies the reader.
• Site security and operation: our legitimate interest in keeping it running.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We rely on providers that process it on our behalf:

• Substack — sending the newsletter.
• Vercel — website hosting.
• Supabase — database, content, accounts and browsing statistics.
• Stripe — subscription payments.

Some providers may process data outside the European Union, under the safeguards required by the GDPR (e.g. standard contractual clauses).

How long we keep it

Your email stays on the list until you unsubscribe (the link is at the bottom of every newsletter). Analytics data is kept in aggregate form for as long as needed for analysis. Your account stays until you ask us to delete it; payment records the law requires us to keep (accounting and tax documents) are kept for 10 years.

Your rights

At any time you can request to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, object to processing, or receive it in a portable format (Arts. 15–22 GDPR). Write to privacy@kakashi.ventures. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it).

Cookies

We use the bare minimum:

• Essential cookies (always on): they make the site work — for example remembering your chosen language and, for those who access the reserved area, the session. No consent required.
• Analytics cookies (only with your consent): two first-party cookies — ka_vid (13 months) and ka_sid (30 minutes) — that let us count visitors and visits in aggregate form. Consent is requested through the banner on your first visit; until you accept, these cookies are not set and only the anonymous count described above remains, which uses no cookies. We also honour your browser's Global Privacy Control signal.

You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may stop some features from working correctly.
